Fixsen notched a career-high three goals and two assists during her final season. Fixsen's best goal of the season came against NorPac rival California at Brookside Field on Oct. 20. Trailing 2-0 late in the first half, Fixsen took a short pass from sophomore Katy McDonough, then slipped past a rushing California defender to lift the ball just by the post of the net with 90 seconds remaining. The goal helped the Tigers charge back to a 3-2 upset win over the Golden Bears. Katie played in 49 games in her career, recording four goals, three assists and two defensive saves in her career.<b>2006 (Junior): </b><br>Katie started and played in all 19 games for the Tigers last season. She led the team with two defensive saves and recorded her first career assist. Fixsen's efforts earned her first post-season award as Katie was named to the All-NorPac Second Team. Katie nabbed her first defensive save in the first game of the year as she prevented a goal by the No. 1 Maryland Terrapins. Unfortunately the Tigers lost the contest, 6-0. Fixsen's assist came in the Tigers' 3-2 loss against California on Sept. 16 as Fixsen served as the stopper on a corner penalty play.<b>2005 (Sophomore):</b><br>Fixsen appeared in 11 of the Tigers' 20 games during her sophomore season. As a midfielder she had three shot attempts, and she scored her first career goal as a Tiger in a 2-0 victory over Miami of Ohio on Aug. 28.<b>2004 (Freshman):</b><br>Katie appeared in two contests in her first season with Pacific. Fixsen did not attempt a shot as a freshman, but provided the Tigers with depth and energy in the midfield.<b>High School:</b><br>Fixsen graduated from Rancho Buena Vista High School in Vista, Calif. where she was a two-time team MVP. Katie served as team captain for the Longhorns in 2003 as she was named to the All-Palomar League First Team and the All-CIF squad. Following her senior season, Katie claimed the Longhorns' Coaches Award. She continued to excel off the field and also won the CIF All-Scholastic Award.<b>Personal:</b><br>Katherine Fixsen is the daughter of Larry and Terry Fixsen. She has two brothers, Jeremy (27) and Richard (22). In her fourth year at Pacific, Katie is a political science major, and she hopes to become a lawyer.<b>MacDonald on Fixsen:</b><br>"Katie has shown the most improvement of any player in the past year. She has good speed and strong tackles and is an integral part of our defense."
